Did you ever wonder what a radio countdown show would be like if it was hosted by a deejay who "wasn't quite human"? Well you need not wonder anymore! Peter Vacation is a computer deejay created by Ronnie. His name and radio style were both inspired by the legendary WMGM-NYC deejay Peter Tripp, who billed himself as "The Curly-Headed Kid In The Third Row." In the mid to late 50s, many years before Casey Kasem became a household name, Peter hosted a daily program called "Your Hits Of The Week" in which he presented the top 40 hits on the local WMGM record survey. Ronnie, who was a big fan of that show, created "Peter Vacation" in his honor. A tripp (well, actually a "trip") can be a vacation. So choosing the guy's name wasn't a big stretch. And because imitation is the sincerist form of flattery, Mr. Vacation bills himself as "The Curly-Headed Kid In The FOURTH Row." He also uses the same theme that Mr. Tripp used on his shows, namely "Stomping Room Only" by Tiny Bradshaw and also pays homage to another great deejay, Martin Block, by using Rusty's Draper's "The Magic Circle" to introduce the top three records. Peter counts down the top 20 national hits on a single record chart from the 50s or 60s (1950 through 1969) based on a weekly Cash Box Magazine retail record chart.
